Cambodian Premium Jasmine Rice (also known as Phka Malis or Phka Rumdol Rice) has not only been recognized as one of the finest fragrant rice, but also have been awarded by international judges, world’s best rice for in 2012, 2013 , 2014, 2018 and 2022.

 

Only harvested once a year from early November to mid-January in north western part of the country and in Kampong Speu province, this naturally planted and cultivated rice is void of artificial modifications and has limited use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

 

After processing, the rice has a long and glossy grain. When cooked, its very pleasant and distinct aromatic flavor as well as its tantalizing natural fragrance will be even more enhanced. With its soft and fluffy texture, this rice will be perfect for accompanying any dishes.

FRAGRANT RICE
(SEN KRO OUB RICE)

Cambodian Fragrant Rice, also known as Sen Kro Oub, aka SKO, is the second type of fragrant rice produced in Cambodia.

 

It can be planted in any general, irrigated area and can be harvested throughout the year. It can grow in both wet and dry season. The main harvests take place in April and July.

 

Fragrant Rice is one of the most beautiful types of rice in the world. It has very similar outlook and texture as Jasmine Rice. Although, not as soft when cooked, its long and slim kernels make Sen Kro Oub rice outstandingly pleasant on consumer’s plates and is the perfect options for people who prefers soft yet chewy rice.

SRO RICE

Extra long and extra slim grain, with its light fragrance, this grain share similarities with Sen Kro Oub rice.

WHITE RICE
(OM 5451)

_

5451 white rice or OM 5451 is a high-yielding rice variety mainly grown in the Mekong Delta provinces with a relatively short growing time (90-95 days).

 

Grain of this variety is long, slender, little chalky and slightly milky color. Rice is elastic and soft in texture, slightly aromatic when cooked, not hard even when cooled down.

Japonica rice has been newly, successfully introduced and grown in Cambodia.

 

This variety is characterized by its short, tick, round grain, which are stickier than traditional rice varieties. This makes it ideal for sushi.

Paddy/rice Intake (1/9)

Grain’s quality and characteristics are assessed and examined via laboratory testing beforehand to guarantee quality

Cleaning and Destoning (2/9)

Efficient cleaning is essential. This process involves cleaning the paddy by removing impurities and foreign matters such as straw, weed seeds, soil, mud balls, threads, stones and metal particles via air pressure and amplitude

Polishing (3/9)

Process to beautify rice’s appearance. It is achieved via gentle rubbing rice kernels against each other. This would result to a smooth surface with silky luster, which would allow a longer period of storage

Grading (4/9)

Rice is graded into head rice, broken rice fractions and tips.

Color Sorting (5/9)

Optical sorting is essential. It removes and discard all “impurities”, product defects and foreign materials by color, shape and texture. This is achieved thanks to technologies using cameras, lighting and machine learning software.

Systematic inspection: rice’s quality is tested prior packaging and thus ensure rice grains follow strictly customer’s specifications and requirements.
